The 1820 Census includes "Nancy
Stephens" as a head of household with a colored
female under the age of 14 included in the
household. Nothing else is known about the young
colored female. Interestingly enough, the will
mentions 4 daughters, yet there are only the 3 young
females and the 1 young colored female in the 1820
Census. Did a daughter die or is the young colored
female one of the "daughters" mentioned in the
will?
