AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE USE OF TOY VEHICLES ON THE MAIN STREETS OF OSTRANDER AS WELL AS THE SIDEWALKS WITHIN THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT OF THE VILLAGE

Whereas, the purpose of this ordinance is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the village as well as eliminating a potential traffic hazard on the most utilized streets.

Whereas, a "toy vehicle" shall be defined as roller skates, skateboards, sleds or any other similar device.

Whereas, the "main streets" shall be Main Street, North Street, and High Street as they exist within the limits of the village.

Whereas, "sidewalks" will include all those within the area bounded by Loveless Street on the north, Main Street on the east, High Street on the south, and Second Street on the west, in addition to the sidewalks along the entire lengths of Main Street, North Street, and High Street.

Whereas, the penalty for the violation of this ordinance shall be guilty of a minor misdemeanor for the first offense.  The second offense within one year after the first offense, the person will be guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree and on each subsequent offense within the year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor in the third degree.

Therefore be it ordained by the Village of Ostrander, State of Ohio.
